Tomorrow morning we will pack our golden bags and heading back to Korcula. Our two weeks with family in Berlin has flown by, it will of course be nice to return to the Korcula sun and hopefully the Berliners will be coming to visit us soon.
For those of you who read my earlier Social Media meeting post you will know that during this trip I planned to meet Helen Bogun of Helz Design and that this would be my first ever actual Social Media meeting. Helen and I met when we were both participating in Nikki Pilkington’s 30 Day Facebook Challenge, and a 30 Day Blog Challenge followed. Helen and I shared some comments and encouraging words on each others blogs and started chatting via facebook last year. Helen was one of our first guest bloggers here at Seba Silver, her post Let Fantasy In, can be found here.
Many of you will be familiar with this image that Helen created for us when we were creating a Christmas themed website…. our website has since been established at www.sebasilver.comwithout the Christmas theme and we had Helen’s work printed up as a Christmas card to send to our customers, family and friends. Helen also created a voucher for our business and has answered a host of printing and graphic design related questions for me.
We arranged to meet on 2 January, knowing that all would be feeling a little weary on the 1st! We had a lovely day wandering around and exploring Berlin, stopping for tea and wandering in and out of many small boutiques and shops of interest. Working on an appetite that led us to an Indian restaurant where we shared two delicious vegetarian dishes and captured this lovely self portrait of ourselves outside!!
Helen kindly invited me to her home for tea and cakes at the weekend and we again spent a lovely time together chatting away about whatever came to mind and enjoying some delicious homemade lemon cake. I am very happy to report that my first ever social media meeting was a huge success and our future chats will now have even more warmth to them knowing each other that bit better. I wonder where we will meet again? Thanks Helen for a fantastic time and introducing me to a new side of Berlin :).
Who have you met via Social Media? or do you have any future meetings planned?
In June 2011 my wife and I opened a small store on the beautiful Dalmatian Island of Korcula. Our store (Seba Dizajn) showcases stunning filigree jewellery, all work is made on site offering you the fascinating chance to see filigree jewellery being made.
Visit us at www.sebasilver.com to see and purchase some of our filigree jewellery.
The Seba family have been working, and creating beautiful pieces of filigree jewellery for over 500 years.
